In this episode of 60 seconds with Serai, we caught up with Jasmine Ling, Head of Sustainable Finance, Commercial Banking Asia Pacific of HSBC, to touch on tomorrow's green finance and her definition of sustainability. A full transcript follows.
I think in the future when a lot of investors and issuers are pushing for embedding sensitivity lens when looking into green, sustainable projects and assets, it will go from a "good-to-have", a complementary element, to sort of the fundamental and the basics for financing and investing going forward.
Sustainability is definitely very close to me at heart. Firstly, it's in my day-to-day job. Banks play a very important role in channeling capital to projects that actually make a positive change. Secondly, as a mother, I think it's definitely time for us to make a positive impact and make sure that we have a future for our kids to live in.
